Sony Music has initiated legal action against the producers of "Creation Stories," a British independent film about the life of record label founder Alan McGee, due to an outstanding debt. They now run Herd International. According to the most recent financial statements, dated April 30, 2021, the company had a debt of £502,408 ($668,000) to creditors and owed an additional £79,813.

A spokesperson for "Creation Stories" stated that the production was completed several years ago and that the issue will be addressed promptly to prevent further legal action.

Based on Alan McGee’s autobiography, "The Creation Records Story: Riots, Raves and Running a Label," the film explores the ups and downs of running Creation Records, known for releasing hits by bands like My Bloody Valentine, Primal Scream, and Oasis. Sony Music, which owns the rights to the Creation Records catalog, is the creditor in this case.
